Here we are at the end of July. Summer is winding down and all things “pumpkin” are starting to show up in stores and I’m sure the infamous pumpkin spice latte is not far behind. I don’t mind fall, but the last bit of summer is always bittersweet.
July wasn’t the most fantastic month of reading for me. Let’s face it, the bright sunshine had me outside with the dog more often than I sat inside curled up with a good book.

Upcoming August
There are some new releases making their way out in August that I think may merit some attention.
Wonder Woman: Warbringer (DC Icons #1) by Leigh Bardugo
Wicked Like a Wildfire (Hibiscus Daughter #1) by Lana Popović
The Strange Case of the Alchemist’s Daughter by Theodora Goss
A Beautiful Poison by Lydia Kang
The Last Tudor (The Plantagenet and Tudor Novels #14) by Philippa Gregory
The Bedlam Stacks by Natasha Pulley
I’m also looking to make a few changes to the blog in August. I’ve been working on a new banner as well as custom post headers. I’m not exactly a wiz with image editing so it is taking longer than I expected but we are getting there. Hopefully within the next week or so you’ll see a total overhaul of Literary Weaponry.
Not to toot my own horn, but, TOOT TOOT! My birthday is coming up on the 11th. I have no plans for that day or the weekend but it’s a thing. I’ve reached that point where I tell people I’m 29 for the next decade. Yikes.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a fabulous August!
Do you think you’ll do a review for Daughter of Smoke and Bone? I’m curious to hear your thoughts. The second book is much better.

I did a short burst about it on Goodreads but I don’t plan on doing a full review. It was not up my alley. One of those “meh” books that I didn’t have a lot to say about. Boring, didn’t like the characters, and that insta love bull crap needs to die.

Ah I see. I didn’t care for the romance, but the fantasy world and magic was cool. Onto other books 🙂
