WWW Wednesday – September 13

WWWWednesday

WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and was formerly hosted by A Daily Rhythm. It is open for anyone to participate, even without a blog you can comment on Sam’s post with your own answers. It is a great way to share what you’ve been reading! All you have to do is answer three questions and share a link to your blog in the comments section of Sam’s blog.

The three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

“It’s okay,” he said. “We’re together.” He didn’t say you’re okay, or we’re alive. After all they’d been through over the last year, he knew that the most important thing was that they were together. She loved him for saying that.”

The Mark of Athena (The Heroes of Olympus #3) by Rick Riordan. Yes. I have been on a Rick Riordan kick. Thank you for noticing. In his Heroes of Olympus series I truly think that this book is the weakest. Granted, I’m enjoying it more on this second read through than the first time a did a few year ago. If you haven’t read this series, the chapters are written from the prospective of  seven different characters. Riordan handles it well and it feels cohesive but there is one character, Piper, that I am always tempted to skip her chapters. Really don’t like her.

What did you recently finish reading?

The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus #1) by Rick Riordan
The Son of Neptune (The Heroes of Olympus #2) by Rick Riordan

I told you my Riordan kick was no joke. When the series first came out I had to do the agonizing one year wait between each book. It is kind of nice just being able to set down one and immediately pick up the next.

“Lots of death, huh? Personally, I’m trying to avoid lots of death, but you guys have fun!”

The House of Hades (The Heroes of Olympus #4) by Rick Riordan. I bet you didn’t see that coming, right? Hah! If I remember correctly, I’m pretty sure this one has fewer Piper chapters than the previous books. I’m completely, 100% on board for that. I promise, I’m almost at the end of the series. There is only one more book after this one.

Typically the books I read are YA or adult, I don’t often jump down the MG well but when I do I may as well go full gusto. I know some people frown on middle grade books but that is just something I don’t understand. They can be just as fun, entertaining, and full plot wise as any other book. What do you think about reading middle grade books?
