My blogging weekends thus far have been sporadic. When I do post on the weekend it is usually a tag or something else unplanned. Instead, I’m going to try doing a weekly wrap up each weekend and see how it feels. Here’s how it will go…
Each Sunday I will post a wrap up of my week. While this post will mainly be reading and/or writing related. I will also include items and events from my daily life. Welcome to Literary Weaponry’s Weekly Wrap Up! (October 9 – October 15 2017)
Reading
This week I officially completed my 2017 Goodreads Reading Challenge! This is the first year that I have set that goal of 52 books and I managed to hit it. I am a little proud of myself!
Going through some of my reading stats on Goodreads:
- The longest book I read was A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J Maas at 705 pages.
- The shortest book I read was The Haunting of Ashburn House by Darcy Coates at 246 pages.
- Nearly a quarter of all books read have been sci-fi/fantasy
- I have give 9 five star reviews, 19 four star, 8 three star, 7 two star, and 1 one star. No, that doesn’t add up to 52 but I also had a few re-reads and a couple that I didn’t rate for various reasons
This week I have been reading Stalking Jack the Ripper (Stalking Jack the Ripper #1) by Kerri Maniscalco. This is a book that I purchased in paperback and I am currently on page 81/326
I am also reading A Treacherous Curse (Veronica Speedwell #3) by Deanna Raybourn which I was lucky enough to get an ARC of. Currently I am 32% through and I am sad to say that it hasn’t pulled me in like the first two book sin the series have.
I picked up two books from the library this week; Nevernight (The Nevernight Chronicle #1) by Jay Kristoff and The Strange Case of the Alchemist’s Daughter by Theodora Goss both of which I chose to DNF at around 25% complete.

Reasons Why I DNF Books
That is it for me this week. How was your reading week?
I love weekly wrap-ups. 🙂 They’re a quick insight into everyone’s week without too much emphasis on “add this book to your TBR” lol. Congratulations on reaching your goal! 😀

Thanks! I apparently finished my goal last Tuesday and didn’t even notice until Saturday. You’d think you would get an alert or something. Haha

Really!? When I hit mine, Goodreads gave me confetti! 😦 You should demand a refund.

Thanks! My goal usually kicks my back side. I’m really surprised and happy that I hit it this year. You still have a couple months left to knock yours out!
