Happy 2018, everyone! I saw this tag at Bookmark your Thoughts and it seemed like the best tag to start the New Year with. I remember sitting down January 1st of last year and putting together my first book review for this blog which was for The Shadow Land by Elizabeth Kostova. Since then I have discovered so many new authors and opportunities and am looking forward to seeing what 2018 brings to the literary world.

MOST ANTICIPATED BOOK TURNED MOVIE?
I’ll be honest with you folks, I’m not much of a movie watcher. In 2018 I’ll watch maybe two or three new movies and that will be it. Don’t have a clue in the world what books are being made into movies.
NAME A CHARACTER THAT YOU WOULDN’T MIND SHARING A KISS WITH AT MIDNIGHT (IF THERE IS ONE)
Lila Bard from A Darker Shade of Magic. She is such an exciting and entertaining character.
WHAT’S ON YOUR TBR FOR 2018? (TOP 5 WILL SUFFICE IF IT’S AN EXTREMELY LONG LIST!)
HOW MANY BOOKS DO YOU HOPE TO READ IN 2018?
I just set my Goodreads goal to 35 for 2018. If I do more, great, but in 2017 I obsessed over how many books I read instead of just enjoying them. I don’t want to fall down that hole again. Reading is for pleasure and learning, not something I should be getting my panties in a twist about.
WILL YOU PARTICIPATE IN THE GOODREADS READING CHALLENGE (OR ANY OTHERS)?
Of course! Just before I started this post I updated my Goodreads goal for the year. I love to see what everyone else is reading and have a simple way to track what I’ve read and want to read.
ANY NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS? (BOOKISH AND OTHERWISE)
Not so much resolutions, no, but I do have a couple goals in mind for Literary Weaponry. I’m hoping to do a revamp soon and change my layout etc. I am also going to try to become more organized in my personal life and hold myself accountable for my own ambitions.
I want to thank you all for Literary Weaponry’s successful first year in 2017. Here is to 2018: may all your dreams come true.
Awesome post! I really wanted to do something fun for New Years rather than just saying “Happy New Years Folks”. Thank gosh for creative people eh? I like your thinking book wise; it’s not the amount but the joy. I got caught up in that in 2017 as well. I put 55 for 2018 but if I don’t reach it I don’t mind. If I’m pretty far behind by the end of summer I might change it to a lower number, which is no biggy. Happy New Year love! Here’s to an epic 2018!
