Hello everyone! The first month of 2018 has come and gone and with that, another month of new books! Of course, Christmas just passed us by and with that came gift cards to use on books so my January book haul wasn’t too shabby. Lets check out what books came my way this January!

- The Book of Lost Fragrances (Reincarnationist #4) by M.J. Rose
- Ruby Red (Edelstein-Trilogie #1) by Kerstin Gier
- The Secret Language of Stones (Daughters of La Lune #2) by M.J. Rose
New Books
- The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air #1) by Holly Black
- Everless (Untitled #1) by Sara Holland
- Iron Gold (Red Rising Saga #4) by Pierce Brown
Audio book from Audible
eARCs
- The Lost Plot (The Invisible Library #4) by Genevieve Cogman
- Reign of the Fallen (Reign of the Fallen #1) by Sarah Glenn Marsh
- The Queens of Innis Lear by Tessa Gratton
- Egyptian Enigma (Dr Pimms, Intermillennial Sleuth #3) by L.J.M. Owen
- Ash Princess (Untitled Trilogy #1) by Laura Sebastian (eARC)
Not a bad haul for January at all, I think! Usually I get maybe one or two new books a month, max, including Netgalley. This month was fantastic and I can’t wait to see what February brings! What new reads did you get this January?

There was so much hype for The Cruel Prince. It seemed to be everyone’s most anticipated book of 2018 and now I am seeing it on so many Hauls and TBRs 🙂 I had to pick up a copy for myself haha. I am going to try and start it tonight. I hope its good!

I hope you enjoy it! I got to page 100 and considered throwing in the towel. Haven’t touched it in days. Maybe the good stuff happens after page 100…

How did you like buying books from ThriftBooks? I only tried one order and bought three books: they’re mostly in great condition but I’m still a little reluctant to buy more books from them 🙂

If they aren’t in “very good” condition I won’t order them. I made the mistake of getting a “good” one once and the insider cover was mildewed. However, they do have excellent customer service. I contacted them on a Saturday about that issue and they had sent me out another copy in better condition by that evening. Ruby Red actually arrived new. It was still in its plastic wrap with the prior store’s sale sticker on it. Also, after several years of ordering from them, I have found your best bet is to grab hard cover, very good condition, prior library copies. They have the plastic covers on them from the library which has kept the covers from getting tattered.
In a nutshell, it is hit and miss. But, when you miss, they try to make it right.

That’s good to hear. I usually prefer paperbacks but the hardbacks I ordered from them usually come in a better condition as well. I’ll definitely keep in mind to order “very good” condition whenever I can! Thanks 🙂
