This week’s theme is Books I’ve Decided I’m No Longer Interested In Reading. This one is a piece of cake. I have LISTS of books I’ve gone, “Why the heck was I ever interested in this?” Come on my precious children, lets dive in.
All of these got the ax for various reasons. Mostly because over the years my tastes have changed and with that my interest in these books fell off. Really, this list could have been 50 books long. Over the years, or even just months, what you are interested in changes and that is to be expected. Age does that to you.
What books have you let go over the years?
Literary Weaponry 
The only two that I have read on this list are The Strange Case of the Alchemist’s Daughter and Red Queen. I am learning to let go, lol. I recently axed A Plague of Giants by Kevin Hearne (What was I thinking?) and My Friend Dahmer (the graphic novel – really//?)

Those are two interesting axed books there! Is there really a graphic novel about Dahmer? That is both fascinating and disturbing.

I only dropped one book so far this year… It was called Tips for Living or something like that and i got for free as a Kindle offer.

OMG I remember when The Miniaturist used to be SUCH a hyped book… I definitely don’t have a burning desire to read it anymore! 🙂

I know! When it first came out it was hard to get away from this book. I stumbled across it in my TBR not long ago and to say the least my interest has waned. I still have a copy floating around my digital library but I doubt I’ll ever open it at this point.

Oooh I would try to give Sleeping Giants a chance if you could, especially if you could get your hands on the audiobook. The first book was okay for me, but the second book made it all worthwhile. I’m anxiously waiting for the next one.

Exactly! With so many books on the TBR I don’t see the point in keeping the ones you just feel “meh” about.

Euphoria–memorable only for its mention of the man’s member’s amazing hue!! lol I agree totally on that one. I did like Nightingale though–but I listened to it while commuting so that might have been a factor. I’m sorry to hear about Woman on the Orient Express–it’s on my To Read list. I’ll probably still give it a go if its on audio–I have 1.25 hours each way to work so I listen constantly! Very interesting list!!!!

That is a terrible commute! I don’t know how you do it. Did Euphoria really talk about the hue of a phallus? That is actually hilarious.
I did ponder about Nightingale for a while before I gave it the boot. There are just so many books on my TBR I didn’t see the point in keeping one that I wasn’t completely on board with.

For the record it was purple….yeah. That and stumbling across a footnote of a President asking Mrs pres to grab the condoms were 2 really cringe-y reading moments. Lol And I made it thru Outlander so I know cringe-y. Lol tmi I’m sure. Thanks for sharing the cringe

The Nightingale was so good, though! I admit the first part of it was a little slow, but the story is so good!!!

I debated a long time about giving The Nightingale the boot before I finally did. It has such amazing reviews but I just don’t think I’d ever actually pick it up. May change my mind at some point because, I have to admit, it still has a nagging little draw to me.

LOL I feel the same about this kind of list being forever long! I feel the same way about Red Queen as well; the fact that I’ve never been motivated and hear way too reviews about it that I just don’t think I’ll like it. Great list!

Thanks! I could have continued with it for another 20 books without breaking a sweat so I just picked a few I found more amusing. When I first started blogging, Red Queen was everywhere so I auto added it to the TBR. Don’t know what I was thinking being such a lemming. Glad I axed it.

I have to laugh- 3 of your let-go books were favorites for me. Which is what makes reading so great; there’s something for everyone.
Most recently I gave up on Homegoing. Just could not stick with it.
