WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and was formerly hosted by A Daily Rhythm. It is open for anyone to participate, even without a blog you can comment on Sam’s post with your own answers. It is a great way to share what you’ve been reading! All you have to do is answer three questions and share a link to your blog in the comments section of Sam’s blog.
The three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
“Perhaps bravery is simply the face humanity wraps around its collective madness.”
Illuminae (The Illuminae Files #1) by Amie Kaufman, Jay Kristoff. I had considered reading this book/series for some time but had put it off for two reasons. 1) I knew the book’s format was different than the norm and at a glance it looked intimidating. 2) I had tried another book by Kristoff which had used an odd format and found it so distracting that I couldn’t read the book. That being said, I got this last week and I’m loving it! I wish I hadn’t put it off for so long.
What did you recently finish reading?
Who knows what happened to the queens who were thrown down into the dark? Into the heart of the island, where the Goddess’s eye is always open. Who knows how she kept those queens or what she turned them into
One Dark Throne (Three Dark Crowns #2) by Kendare Blake . I read Three Dark Crowns in early 2017 and vowed not to pick up the second book in the series for any reason. Well, the intention was pure but the mind was weak and I listened to this one as an audio book over the last two weeks. Man, I knew better. The story spun on and on with little to no purpose and at the end of the day the end was ridiculous anyway. Really mad at myself for giving into this thing.
What do you think you’ll read next?
I’m taking a bit of a break from reading once I am done with Illuminae which might end up being a hiatus from blogging for a bit. I have a project I am working on which is taking up much of my time and some personal things in my life which I am having a difficult time dealing with. I think it may by time to take a step back for a little while and focus on that despite how much I love working on this blog.
Have you ever picked up a book you vowed you wouldn’t read? How did that turn out? Talk to me!
Hopefully things will get better! Take all the time you need for a break 🙂 Hopefully mister puppy’s cuteness might help?

Thank you, dear. And said puppy just plopped on my lap demanding snuggles so he is certainly a help. A crazy, furry, exponentially growing help, but still help.

Of course! Lol my dog does that too; he’s still a puppy for just being over a year old that’s not aware of his size

Sad to see you go on hiatus, but I understand that sometimes it’s necessary. Hopefully things get better for you!

Too bad for One dark Throne! It’s been on my “radar” but now …

If you enjoyed the first book then One Dark Throne is a good follow up to it and worth a read, truly. I found the first book so-so, so I was hoping for an improvement which was really my own fault. I will say that Katarine’s character development was fairly interesting

I’ve been putting off Illuminae for similar reasons. I really have to bite the bullet and read it or at least stop buying more of Kristoffs books 😂
I hope your haitus helps and things get better for you.
