WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and was formerly hosted by A Daily Rhythm. It is open for anyone to participate, even without a blog you can comment on Sam’s post with your own answers. It is a great way to share what you’ve been reading! All you have to do is answer three questions and share a link to your blog in the comments section of Sam’s blog.
The three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
Your emotions make you human. Even the unpleasant ones have a purpose. Don’t lock them away. If you ignore them, they just get louder and angrier.
A Torch Against the Night (Ember Quartet #2) by Sabaa Tahir. I just started reading this book yesterday and it already has its teeth in me. It picks right up where the first book left off which is great. I hate picking up a sequel and being a year or years after the first book. So far, this has been a great read. Looking forward to reading more of it.
What did you recently finish reading?
There are two kinds of guilt. The kind that’s a burden and the kind that gives you purpose. Let your guilt be your fuel. Let it remind you of who you want to be. Draw a line in your mind. Never cross it again. You have a soul. It’s damaged but it’s there. Don’t let them take it from you.
An Ember in the Ashes (Ember Quartet #1) by Sabaa Tahir. When I picked up this book I really wasn’t sure what to expect. I have to say, I ended up loving it so much that I snagged the second book mere minutes after finishing this one. My full review on this will be up on May 19th but for now I will say that this story truly sucked me in. It felt like a unique setting with very well fleshed out characters.
What do you think you’ll read next?
The Case of the Deadly Doppelganger (Dr Ribero’s Agency of the Supernatural #2) by Lucy Banks. I read the first book in this series, The Case of the Green-Dressed Ghost , early in 2017. I’m sorry to say that, though I enjoyed the book, I had forgotten about the series and this addition to it was released and sailed by me without my even noticing. I hope to rectify that as the first book was an entertaining if quick read and very enjoyable. Hopefully the second book in the series is equally as fun!
The Ember Quartet has really pulled me in. I wasn’t really expecting to like them but am so glad that I ended up picking up the first one. Such a great story. What books have you read that you weren’t expecting to enjoy but were pleasantly surprised?
Mwahahaha I knew you’d love it 😀 Luckily the third book is out in 4 weeks as well. Can’t wait to read your thoughts 🙂

I can’t wait to read it. These characters have completely hooked me. Although, kinda hope Keenan falls off a cliff. Just saying.

I’ve picked up the first two from the library but probably going to end up having to buy the third one because out library is so slow about getting new releases in. I NEED IT!!

I’m so happy to see you reading A Torch right now and that you enjoyed An Ember so much! I adore this series a lot and will not impatiently await my copy of Reaper to arrive. *checks calendar for millionth time*
The most recent book that I can think of that I enjoyed more than I expected is probably the Arc Of The Scythe series by Neal Shusterman! I’m currently about a third of the way through book 2 and LOVING it. I was listening to the audiobook earlier while doing the dishes and OUT LOUD yelled ‘SHIT SHIT SHIT’ at the end of the first part and things just continued that way in part 2!

I’ve been pondering over reading the Scythe series and waffling over it. I think I’m going to have to give it a try now. Any book that makes you shout out loud is well worth the read!

Oh, you absolutely should! Book 2 continues to be really good too and I’m so glad that there is no romance in it whatsoever! And the twists. My god.
