WWW Wednesday – June 6

WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and was formerly hosted by A Daily Rhythm. It is open for anyone to participate, even without a blog you can comment on Sam’s post with your own answers. It is a great way to share what you’ve been reading! All you have to do is answer three questions and share a link to your blog in the comments section of Sam’s blog.

The three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

“We shouldn’t have to go around congratulating each other for behaving with basic human dignity.”

Senlin Ascends (The Books of Babel #1) by Josiah Bancroft . I picked this one up from the library over the weekend and just got started on it this evening. So far, the writing seems interesting but I haven’t got very far into it. I’ve been looking forward to reading this one so will update on my Goodreads page as I go.

What did you recently finish reading?

“You’re the same as you were yesterday and the day before. Nothing has changed. Not really. Forget what troubles you. Regret nothing, but learn from any mistakes you make. Tomorrow will be a brighter day, I promise.”

Falling Kingdoms (Falling Kingdoms #1) by Morgan Rhodes . My full review will be up on June 9 but, in the meantime, I will say that I was disappointed. Picking up this book in the first place was mere whim but I still expected better. Too many characters and we have seen this plot before. Tired characters, tired story, and a chore to read.

The Lantern’s Ember by Colleen Houck. I received this book as an eARC through Netgalley and I was really excited to read it. I simply cannot get over the cover art, it is beyond beautiful, despite the lackluster story within. The story is lacking and is very lacking in continuity and character development. Full review up June 16th.

What do you think you’ll read next?

A Reaper at the Gates (Ember Quartet #3) by Sabaa Tahir . I don’t think that WANT fully encapsulates how much I want to read this book. I absolutely fell in love with the first two books and want nothing more than to dive back in with these amazing characters head first. I cannot wait. GIMME GIMME! Out June 12.

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Is there anyone else out there waiting for Reaper in a not so patient manner? I need that book in my hands immediately! I hope that you are all having a lovely week.

  1. Your comments on the books that you have recently finished reading crush me because I was looking forward to reading those books and thought that they were going to be amazing, especially since their covers were both so stunning. Thanks for the great post either way!
