Rules of Music Mondays: Every Monday share a few songs you’ve been enjoying lately. It doesn’t have to be a specific genre, new, or one of your favorites – just something you’d like to share with others. If possible, share a music or lyric video of the song and your thoughts on the song(s), artist(s), and/or music video(s). Meme by Drew @ The Tattooed Book Geek.
The past week I have had my cranky pants on. What does one listen to when they have their cranky pants on? Why, cranky music of course, you silly folks! These songs have made their way onto my play list more than once in the past week. *grumpgrumpgrumpitygrump*
Any time I’m in a less than stellar mood I find myself heading to my In this Moment playlist. Singing (kinda) along with Maria always leaves me in a momentarily better mood. Something about her unashamed, unique personality and powerful voice really appeals to me.
I have loved Nirvana for as long as I can remember. Something about Kurt’s voice in this song has always felt a little different to me though. It sounds so strained and pained. Now, of course, he died not long after the MTV Unplugged session was filmed so I imagine he was in pain but this song will always stand out as one of my favorites that Nirvana ever performed.
