Rules of Music Mondays: Every Monday share a few songs you’ve been enjoying lately. It doesn’t have to be a specific genre, new, or one of your favorites – just something you’d like to share with others. If possible, share a music or lyric video of the song and your thoughts on the song(s), artist(s), and/or music video(s). Meme by Drew @ The Tattooed Book Geek.
This Monday we are once again going back to the 90s. I know, I know, I am stuck in a musical decade. I read somewhere that once you hit 30 that newer music no longer appeals to you. Know what? I believe it. I am also okay with it.
Today we will start with Joan Osborne who is best known for her song What if God was One of Us. While that is a great song, the entire Relish album is excellent. Admittedly, the video for the song doesn’t seem to take any cues from the song itself but it is still worth a listen.
Oh, yeah. I’m going full Lilith Fair this Music Monday with Seven Years by Natalie Merchant. This is off of her Tigerlily album which, much like the aforementioned Relish, is excellent every track. Seven Years, while not the most popular song by Merchant, is my personal favorite. She really puts a lot of emotion into this one and it pulls at you.
