In my Book Spotlight piece I will be bringing you an upcoming release and/or cover reveal. These books are ones I am excited about whether they are from a new or an established author. This week we have the newly revealed covers for the conclusion of Sarah J. Maas’s Throne of Glass series, Kingdom of Ash!
Title: Kingdom of Ash (Throne of Glass #7) by Sarah J. Maas
Expected publication: October 23rd, 2018
Publisher: Bloomsbury
Captured by the Queen of the Fae, Aelin is trapped inside an iron box in a secret location, with seemingly no hope for escape. As she endures months of torture, her friends scatter to different fates. Without Aelin to protect them, soldier Aedion and shapeshifter Lysandra need to defend their homeland at all costs. Also left to forge their own paths in order to change history are Chaol, the witch Manon, and the golden boy Dorian-while Aelin’s mate, the fae male Rowan, searches the world over for his lost love.
As Aelin gathers the strength to save herself and fight the ultimate battle of her life, all of their destinies hang in the balance. Some ties will bond even tighter together, others will be severed forever, and mysteries will be revealed in this action-packed, heart wrenching series finale. (Goodreads)
Sarah J. Maas is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Throne of Glass series (Queen of Shadows, Book 4, will be out in September 2015), as well as the A Court of Thorns and Roses series (out 5/5/15).
Sarah lives in Bucks County, PA, and over the years, she has developed an unhealthy appreciation for Disney movies and bad pop music. She adores fairy tales and ballet, drinks too much tea, and watches an ungodly amount of TV. When she’s not busy writing, she can be found exploring the historic and beautiful Pennsylvania countryside with her husband and canine companion.
Alright. Alright. I complain, I bitch, I moan, I make pithy comments about this series but damn if I can’t wait to read this book. What happens to Manon? Does Maas finally grow a pair and off a main character (unlikely)? What about my precious Dorian? I need to know these things! Not going to lie, I’m looking forward to this book coming out.
The covers are also eye catching but I’m on a fence about them. They were certainly running out of colors they could use as the theme since this is the seventh book of the series and I imagine that US one is very striking in person. But, on a personal level, just not sure about them. I’m not a fan of golds and yellows.
Reviews of Mass’s books:
- Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass #1)
- Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass #2)
- Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass #3)
- Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass #5)
- Tower of Dawn (Throne of Glass #6)
- A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses #1)
- A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses #2)
- A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses #3)
- A Court of Frost and Starlight (A Court of Thorns and Roses #3.1)
Yes! I don’t particularly care about Aelin – but what about Manon, Elide, Dorian and Lysandra? I just care about my favourites 🙂
