WWW Wednesday – August 8

WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and was formerly hosted by A Daily Rhythm. It is open for anyone to participate, even without a blog you can comment on Sam’s post with your own answers. It is a great way to share what you’ve been reading! All you have to do is answer three questions and share a link to your blog in the comments section of Sam’s blog.

The three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

“You can’t expect to always feel like yourself. Just don’t lose who you are. Are you a bad person? Of course not. Does that mean you’ll always do the right thing? Of course not. No one’s perfect.”

Nyxia (The Nyxia Triad #1) by Scott Reintgen . I’m only a chapter or two into this book but so far I like it. The characters all seem to have distinct personalities and I feel that back stabbing and betrayal are in the future for our dear Emmett. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

What did you recently finish reading?

“Getting angry at one of the horsemen of the apocalypse for bringing about the end of man is like getting angry at ice for being cold.”

Pestilence (The Four Horsemen #1) by Laura Thalassa . Lets be honest here, this book is little more than a strange erotica dressed up in fantasy clothes. The plot starts off normal enough in a “we have to save the world” way but quickly devolves into one intensely sexually fueled scene after another. The so called relationship developing between the two characters is the epitome of unhealthy and there is a torture scene at the beginning that is tough to read. Be that as it may, I devoured this book. We all read (and enjoy) some trash from time to time, right?

What do you think you’ll read next?

“There was comfort in ignorance, in thinking the world a certain way and not knowing any different.”

Alice (The Chronicles of Alice #1) by Christina Henry. I am still waiting for this book to be delivered. Estimated shipping was 5-8 days. It has been 10 and I’m getting more than a little annoyed. I should have just sucked it up and ordered a copy with the hideous US cover. It might be ugly, but at least I’d have it by now. Heck, I’d have had it for over a week by now. But nnnooo, I just had to have the pretty UK cover. Bah!

That is it for this Wednesday! I’m off to stalk the mail carrier in hopes that she will have my book in her truck today. I hope you all have a wonderful day and happy reading!
