Down the TBR Hole #25

TBRHOLE

Welcome again to Down the TBR Hole! This meme came from Lost in a Story. All book descriptions taken from Goodreads.

Current TBR Total: 132

It works like this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if youre feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

Rage (Stormheart #2) by Cora Carmack – When I read the first book in this series, Roar, I fell in love. It was such a disappointment when this sequel got pushed back a year. However, it got pushed back because of the author’s health troubles so I can understand why there was a delay. I am still looking forward to this book and can’t wait to get my stubby little fingers on it.

Haunting the Deep (How to Hang a Witch #2) by Adriana Mather – So, this is the second book of the series and I haven’t read the first yet. I just read the first book’s Goodreads page and it doesn’t sound that interesting and some reviewers that I trust were pretty harsh about it. So, we know what that means, right?

⊗DELETE⊗

Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist – Yet another book that I have absolutely no memory of. Zilch. This seems to happen to me about. Why do I do this to myself?

⊗DELETE⊗

Strawberry Cream Murder (Donut Hole Mystery #1) by Susan Gillard – What the ever loving heck? I’m tempted to leave this one on the TBR just because it is so odd for it to be there. Where did it come from? How did it get here? Was I just craving donuts? These are questions to which I will never have the answers.

⊗DELETE⊗

Beast: A Tale of Love and Revenge by Lisa Jensen – You know that I love a good retelling. But the story that is being retold should be one that I liked in the first place. Beauty and the Beast? Not my thing. I didn’t even really like it as a kid. And a retelling with only an average of 3 stars? Easy call.

⊗DELETE⊗

La Belle Sauvage (The Book of Dust #1) by Philip Pullman – I’ll admit, the only reason I added this to my TBR is that someone I like and respect the opinion of recommend this book to, well, pretty much everyone. I added it with the intent of looking into it later. Well, I’ve looked into it and it sounds at least moderately entertaining. Not my usual book choice which is pretty much up my alley right now.

New TBR Total: 128

Yay for a successful purge session! Woohoo! Those always make me happy. The next few look like easy delete calls too but I will save that for another post. Know of a book you think I’d enjoy? Please, let me know what it is in the comments! I would love to hear from you.
