WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and was formerly hosted by A Daily Rhythm. It is open for anyone to participate, even without a blog you can comment on Sam’s post with your own answers. It is a great way to share what you’ve been reading! All you have to do is answer three questions and share a link to your blog in the comments section of Sam’s blog.
The three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
“We find things, just as we lose things. If you’ve lost your honor, you’ll find it again.”
Sky in the Deep (Sky in the Deep) by Adrienne Young. I requested this book from the library the week that it came out in April. Yesterday, August 21, it finally came in. Ridiculous, right? Either way I’ve already plowed through the first few chapters and so far I am enjoying it. Honestly, right now this book feels like a godsend. I needed something quick and easy that didn’t require my full focus and this book is filling the bill while still being entertaining. I’ll be sure to let you know how the rest of it goes!
What did you recently finish reading?
“There was comfort in ignorance, in thinking the world a certain way and not knowing any different.”
Alice (The Chronicles of Alice #1) by Christina Henry. The more I think about this book the more garbage I think it was. Plot points that lead nowhere or didn’t connect, characters that don’t progress, major antagonists being poorly written, and other characters and plot points that just wander off into the night after being brought up, never to be seen again for no apparent reason. This book was such a let down.
What do you think you’ll read next?
But there’s something terribly wrong in the north. Talk of the return of shadows, missing children, and magic abounds. As Sal takes out the people responsible for their ruined homeland, Sal learns secrets and truths that can’t be forgotten.
Ruin of Stars (Mask of Shadows #2) by Linsey Miller. This book comes out on August 28th and I its time I finish reading my ARC and get the review written. I loved the first book in this duology, Mask of Shadows, and am looking forward to seeing how Sal fairs in this book. Of course, when I got the ARC I was in the middle of a huge reading slump and didn’t get far into it but hopefully I’ll pick it back up this weekend and finish reading it before the Tuesday release.

That is too bad about Alice!! I am planning on reading my first Christina Henry book, Lost Boy, soon and hopefully I will enjoy that one!

I hope you love Lost Boy! I’ve heard several people say that Henry’s writing style between Alice and Lost Boy changed a lot so I may still give that one a try, too.

So far I am loving it and wish I had more time to read it. Last couple of nights I’ve only just managed to gobble a chapter or two at bedtime and I need more!

The cover is so beautiful and reading along with Sal’s journey is really interesting. It is the first series I’ve read with they/them pronouns and has been great.

I love that Sky in the Deep cover. It’s not my reading genre, but the cover makes me wish it was. Enjoy!
