WWW Wednesday – September 5

WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and was formerly hosted by A Daily Rhythm. It is open for anyone to participate, even without a blog you can comment on Sam’s post with your own answers. It is a great way to share what you’ve been reading! All you have to do is answer three questions and share a link to your blog in the comments section of Sam’s blog.

The three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

“Monsters were in the eye of the beholder. And no one wanted to discover their hero was the true villain of the story.”

Hunting Prince Dracula (Stalking Jack the Ripper #2) by Kerri Maniscalco. I finished the first book in this series just a week or so ago and dove into this second installment soon after. So far, I’m not enjoying it as much as I did the first book but I am only about 100 pages in. I also feel like I am alone in my dislike of Thomas. How someone can be both pompous and a putz at the same time I simply do not know but he manages it.

“I could still see a young Eelyn standing on the beach turned into the wind, a sword in one hand and an axe in the other. I hadn’t lost her. I hadn’t buried her. I’d only let her change into something new.”

Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young. When I read this book I had a lot of conflicted feelings. On one hand it was a wonderful story of bravery and growing as a person, protecting what you love and learning to care for more. On the other hand it lacked detail and depth, shorted the reader on potentially dynamic scenes, and added an unnecessary romance.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I will throw caution to the wind, make a sacrifice to the teetering TBR pile, and hope that the odds are ever in my favor as I reach in and pull out a random book. Stay tuned.
