Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week they provide a topic and you are free to use that topic and/or variations of that topic to make your top ten list. You don’t have to do all ten. Instead you can do three, five, fifteen, whatever you want. A full list of the weekly themes can be found here.
This week’s theme is technically Authors I’d Love to Meet but I was on hiatus last week and would love to do last week’s topic of Books By My Favorite Authors That I Still Haven’t Read instead. There are so many books out there that I just haven’t read yet and would love to.
Escaping from Houdini (Stalking Jack the Ripper #3) by Kerri Maniscalco – Yes, I know this book just came out, but I’m longing to read it anyway. I recently finished the first two books in the series and while the second one didn’t blow me away I still very much want to read this one. Not to mention reviews are saying that Cresswell gets some competition in this book and I am all for that because I truly dislike him.
A Reaper at the Gates (An Ember in the Ashes #3) by Sabaa Tahir – When this book was released in June 2018 I was shouting Tahir’s name from the roof. I was head over heels in love with the first two books in this series and snatched this one up as soon as it came out. And it has sat on my shelf ever since, a bookmark poking out about halfway through. My summer was a massive reading slump so hopefully I get the kick in the pants to finish it up soon.
Lifel1k3 (Lifelike #1) by Jay Kristoff – I feel like everyone is talking about Kristoff. Everything he publishes seems to turn to gold. Not that I’m complaining, I love that he isn’t the happily-ever-after type. However, I still haven’t picked this book up. I want to, I really do, but my library doesn’t have it and I can’t bring myself to throw money at it right now. One of these days…
Iron Gold (Red Rising Saga #4) by Pierce Brown – Yeah, I’m cringing even at myself. I read the first three books of the Red Rising saga and adored them so when Iron Gold was announced I preordered it pretty much immediately. I received it release day, read two or three chapters, and since then it has sat on my shelf. What is my problem? Golden Son is one of my top five books ever, why can’t I just sit down and read this thing?
Wolf by Wolf (Wolf By Wolf #1) by Ryan Graudin – When I read Ryan Graudin’s Invictus I fell in love and ordered Wolf by Wolf pretty much immediately afterwards. And, I think you are seeing a theme here, it has sat on my shelf ever since. I still very much want to read it because I enjoyed Graudin’s writing style and general flow a great deal.
Bryant & May and the Burning Man (Bryant and May #12) by Christopher Fowler – I absolutely adored Fowler’s Bryant and May series and I bring it up here on Literary Weaponry fairly often. There are a few books in the series I haven’t read yet, including this one, and I can’t wait to dig into them all. Bryant and May never let me down.
That is all for this week! One of these days I’ll get around to reading this books by authors I already I know that I love. Have a lovely day, everyone.
