Aelin has risked everything to save her people―but at a tremendous cost. Locked within an iron coffin by the Queen of the Fae, Aelin must draw upon her fiery will as she endures months of torture. Aware that yielding to Maeve will doom those she loves keeps her from breaking, though her resolve begins to unravel with each passing day…
With Aelin captured, Aedion and Lysandra remain the last line of defense to protect Terrasen from utter destruction. Yet they soon realize that the many allies they’ve gathered to battle Erawan’s hordes might not be enough to save them. Scattered across the continent and racing against time, Chaol, Manon, and Dorian are forced to forge their own paths to meet their fates. Hanging in the balance is any hope of salvation―and a better world.
And across the sea, his companions unwavering beside him, Rowan hunts to find his captured wife and queen―before she is lost to him forever.
As the threads of fate weave together at last, all must fight, if they are to have a chance at a future. Some bonds will grow even deeper, while others will be severed forever in the explosive final chapter of the Throne of Glass series. (Goodreads)
Oh yeah, you knew I’d read it. I knew I’d read it. Doesn’t matter how much I bitched and complained about the first six (?!) books in this series, I had already invested all of that time I have to know how it all ends. Mainly, I have to know if Dorian and Manon are okay.
I’m reading this book as audio and when I downloaded it and was informed that it was 33 hours I nearly just turned right around and walked away. 33 hours?! Ain’t nobody got time for that…
Currently I am a few chapters in and the story picks up and starts running with very little preamble or fuss which I certainly appreciate. I hate when you open a book and have to trudge through chapter after chapter of build up before it gets anywhere. Not this one! You are right back in the thick of things with all of the characters you’ve come to expect. Despite that fact that my beloved Dorian and Manon have not yet made an appearance I’m actually enjoying the story.
Yes I know, I didn’t expect to but I think my brain has finally given in and gone, “Bitch, you’ve read six books with these characters, stop complaining and just enjoy this last one. It won’t kill you…probably.” So, that is where we are.
