WWW Wednesday – November 14

WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and was formerly hosted by A Daily Rhythm. It is open for anyone to participate, even without a blog you can comment on Sam’s post with your own answers. It is a great way to share what you’ve been reading! All you have to do is answer three questions and share a link to your blog in the comments section of Sam’s blog.

The three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

There were still consequences. There were always consequences, no matter which side she was on.

Archenemies (Renegades #2) by Marissa MeyerInitially, I wasn’t going to read this book. I wasn’t entirely engaged in the first book of the series and had decided not to continue with it. But, being me, I got caught up by a whim and went out and bought it. Whoops! So far I am around half through this book and it is honestly much better, at least to me, than Renegades. I’m more engaged with the characters and their motivations even though some of them are still completely dim witted. And the amount of convenient happenstances is maddening but I’m still glad I’m giving it a shot.

What did you recently finish reading?

Death had been her curse and her gift and her friend for these long, long years. She was happy to greet it again under the golden morning sun.

Kingdom of Ash (Throne of Glass #7) by Sarah J. MaasI am surprised with how very much I enjoyed this book! Sure, it is big enough to knock a person out, but in a good way. With tears and pain. So much tears and pain. This book is far and away the best of the series and it was well worth it to slog through the tedium in some of the other books of the series to get to this one.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I don’t want an easy life. I want a meaningful one.

Girls of Paper and Fire (Girls of Paper and Fire #1) by Natasha Ngan. I’ve been eyeballing this book for months. The premise sounds good, LGBT rep, diverse cast of characters, and so many of the reviews are singing its praises. I got the B&N special edition that includes an annotated chapter as well. I can’t wait to read this book!

That is it for this Wednesday. Have you read any of these books? What did you think?Happy reading, everyone!

  1. Something I realized after I finished reading KOA is WHY WASN’T ACOWAR MORE LIKE THAT? Like, I kind of expected this kind of outcome for KOA but it was still SO GOOD. I actually feared for characters and the events that were happening where with ACOWAR it was basically just like ‘Yeah, we’re getting out of this either way. All of us.’. I’m glad to see Sarah write a KICK ASS finale like this!

I’ll quickly go and hide because I still haven’t gotten to Renegades. xD The SIZE of that book intimidates me (which sounds ridiculous even to me, considering I just read KOA in no time…) but everyone so far seems to love it??? I need to get over myself and read this already!

    1. EXACTLY! Why couldn’t she make ACOWAR even half as good as KoA. Being emotionally concerned over characters well being was an oddly pleasant change from, “Well, obviously they are all going to be fine.” It was what I had wanted ACOWAR to be.

And I can’t blame you about Renegades. That thing is a brick. If someone broke into my house I could use that book to knock them out. 🤣
