WWWWednesday

WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and was formerly hosted by A Daily Rhythm. It is open for anyone to participate, even without a blog you can comment on Sam’s post with your own answers. It is a great way to share what you’ve been reading! All you have to do is answer three questions and share a link to your blog in the comments section of Sam’s blog.

The three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

But death was her curse and her gift, and death had been her good friend these long, long years.

Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass #2) by Sarah J. Maas. Oh yeah, I’m doing it. I finished Kingdom of Ash and was so absorbed and in love that I decided to re-read the series. I’ve already finish Throne of Glass and am over halfway through this book. I must admit that I am enjoying a good deal more during the second read through than I did the first.

What did you recently finish reading?

Libraries were full of ideas—perhaps the most dangerous and powerful of all weapons.

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass #1) by Sarah J. Maas. Told you I was doing a Throne of Glass reread. I couldn’t help myself. During my first read of this book I gave it three stars as it was mildly entertaining and I liked all of the hit hit stab stabs. The second time through I could see all of the initial building blocks that would form the foundation for the rest of the series and it was amazing. Such a long running and well loved series built up from these initial 406 pages.

What do you think you’ll read next?

The people you love are just weapons that will be used against you.

Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass #3) by Sarah J. Maas. Bet you didn’t see that coming, did you? Upon my initial reading I rated this book 3/5. I don’t remember much about it, if I’m being honest. I know this is the one where she meets that idjit male of hers and I never did like him but, maybe like the first part of my reread, perhaps I will like him more the second time through. We will see.

So far I am very much enjoying my Throne of Glass reread and hope I continue to do so. I recently started a new job and going back and reading books that are familiar is a comfort during the change. It is like having a friend with you. What books do you read for comfort?

  1. I have a bit of a tendency to reread books when there’s too much going on to start a new one although I have to admit it tends to be romance reads like The Hating Game (I love that book).

I’ve been putting of Kingdom of Ash as I’ve always felt the series went downhill after the second or third book (and there’s no need for any book to be 1000 pages). So far Crown of Midnight remains my fave in the series, although who knows maybe I’ll end up loving Kingdom.

    1. I have to agree that the series really took a nose dive after the first couple of books. But, let me tell ya, for me KoA more than made up for any disappointments I’ve had with the rest of the series. It really was a great conclusion to the story.

    1. Its a mindless job which, quite frankly, isn’t a bad thing right now. Can’t complain. Thank you for thinking of it. =)

I’m loving this binge read and I am very tempted to buy the hardcover box set that just came out of the series. It is calling my name. Right now I only have them as digital audio. Hhmmmm
