Christmastime is fast approaching, trees are twinkling in homes, cookies are baking, and people are in a mad panic about what gifts to purchase their loved ones. Or is that just me? I haven’t even ordered my Christmas cards yet. Every year I tell myself I’ll be on the ball with this stuff and get it done early and every year I get mid way through December before I make any progress. What is wrong with me?!
My own Christmas woes aside, the one thing I have done is put together my Christmas list. Of course, it is dominated by books (much to my non reading father’s irritation). I wanted to share with you the books I am most looking forward to finding under the tree!

Evermore (Everless #2) by Sara Holland – When I read Everless I was impressed by the story that was crafted and the depth of characters. Sure, you could see a lot of the twists coming, but at the same time it didn’t take away from the fun and adventure! I can’t wait for the second book in the series to be released so that I can dive back in. (December 31 2018)
Finale (Caraval #3) by Stephanie Garber – I have had a love/hate relationship with this series but for some reason, I keep coming back to it. Book one was, if you’ll pardon me, a complete shit show. Book two absolutely blew me away! I have high hopes for this third installment. Not to mention that cover is brilliant! (May 7 2019)
Song of the Dead (Reign of the Fallen #2) by Sarah Glenn Marsh – Alright, we all know that the first book in this series had some points that needed to be ironed out. The pacing was downright uncomfortable at points and some of the plot points needed trigger warnings highlighted in red with neon arrows. Despite that, the story had a strong base and the characters were developed enough to hold my interest. I’m looking forward to reading the second book in the series when it comes out. (January 22 2019)
Lifelik3 (Lifelike #1) by Jay Kristoff– Not to trigger any gasps or anything, but my relationship with Kristoff’s books has been pretty hit or miss. His Nevernight series sounds amazing but I couldn’t wrap my brain around those asides to be able to get absorbed in the story. Then there is Illuminae, which was enjoyable but I haven’t had the urge to continue the series. Despite that, I’m eager to try another one of his books. (May 29 2018)
Lady Smoke (Ash Princess Trilogy #2) by Laura Sebastian – Right at the end of Ash Princess things really started to get interesting. I want the next book in the series so much so that I can jump back in and find out where the story was starting to lead. I need to know what happens! (February 5 2019)
City of Bastards (Royal Bastards #2) by Andrew Shvarts – I just recently started to read Royal Bastards and I am already hooked. All of the characters are so distinct, you won’t find any cookie cutters in this book! Shvarts also doesn’t shy away from violence and seems willing to explore topics that other YA books steer clear of. (June 5 2018)

There are some of the books on my personal Christmas list, even though part of the are currently preorder only. Despite that, I’m looking forward to seeing all of these covers on my shelves sometime soon!
What books are currently on your wish list for the holidays?
Fantastic post idea. 🙂 I’m looking forward to reading Girls of Paper and Fire soon. x
Also, the number of gorgeous covers in this post made me happy. ❤

I would also not complain if someone threw a copy of Lifelike at me for christmas 😀
My list also has Nine Perfect Strangers (Liane Moriarty) and The Great Alone (Christine Hannah), but i don’t think anyone will give me books. They never dare.

Why don’t people give books for Christmas? Drives me crazy. Last year my father specifically called and told me to add non bookish things to my list because he wasn’t getting those. Why won’t they do it?! Sigh.
Nine Perfect Strangers sounds like a really interesting read! The early reviews seem to be positive, too. I’ll have to keep my eye out for it at the library.

Most of my friends don’t get me books cuz they think i prolly already have them 😀
My BF outright refuses to buy books cuz “you got enough already”…

A Blade so Black and Six of Crows are big on my Christmas wish list. Kinda funny this year, most of my list is also on my daughters so getting them for her is kinda like getting them for me too since we share books

Love this post! I’m super excited for Evermore too, but I’m hoping to get it on audiobook as I listened to the first one and really enjoyed the narration.
