WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and was formerly hosted by A Daily Rhythm. It is open for anyone to participate, even without a blog you can comment on Sam’s post with your own answers. It is a great way to share what you’ve been reading! All you have to do is answer three questions and share a link to your blog in the comments section of Sam’s blog.
The three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
Amber and Dusk was the featured book in December 2018’s Owl Crate box! This was my very first Owl Crate and I was excited to get a book I hadn’t even heard of before. The premise sounds interesting and the special edition cover is beautiful. I just started reading this and am only on page 34ish but so far it feels like it is going to be a great story.
What did you recently finish reading?
My full review is linked above but, in a nut shell, this book was what I expected it to be. I didn’t initially intend to read this book as I didn’t particularly enjoy The Cruel Prince but I got sucked in anyway and it was the slightly more than mediocre book of my expectations.
Just this morning I finished reading this book before I woke my daughter up to take her to school. If I am being honest, I enjoyed Everless far more than I did Evermore. It was still good but I felt like it lacked a lot of depth and there were so many flashbacks which is one of my pet peeves. I’ll read more by Holland in the future but this is not going to make my favorites list of 2019 the way Everless did for 2018.
What do you think you’ll read next?
This lovely little beauty comes out next Tuesday, January 22, and I have already preordered it through Audible. The way the first book ended left me with a lot of questions to unresolved issues and I am very much looking forward to jumping back into this world. Chakraborty’s writing captured my imagination and I’m longing for more!

Thats all for this week! What are you reading?
I really need to read something by Holly Black, I’ve heard so many amazing things!

Her writing is good and her storylines feel engaging. Even though she is by no means one of my favorites you should definitely give her books a try! Most people seem to adore them.

I was hoping to finish it before the next Owl Crate book came this month but at this point that isn’t going to happen. Must…read…faster…

I felt the exact same way about Evermore. Can’t say I was disappointed, but I definitely didn’t enjoy it as much as Everless.

Exactly! The plot line wrapped up, we got to see the conclusions for all of the characters, but it still felt like something was missing. I think all of those flashbacks just took the reader out of the story so far that we couldn’t get absorbed into it, but that’s just my opinion.

Oh no! I’ve been excited for Evermore so seeing that you didn’t like it as much as Everless is disappointing.

I know. =(
It is definitely worth a read if you read Everless so that you can get the conclusion but, honestly, if I had seen reviews for Evermore before I read Everless I would probably have never picked it up.

I’m so ready for Kingdom of Copper! And I’m putting of Wicked King for exactly those reasons…
