Welcome again to Down the TBR Hole! This meme came from Lost in a Story. All book descriptions taken from Goodreads.
Current TBR Total: 157
It works like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
Senlin Ascends (The Books of Babel #1) by Josiah Bancroft – Confession – I own this as an audiobook, it has a great narrator, but last summer I got around halfway through and just stopped. I got bored. Or maybe it was just a reading slump. Who knows, but I’ll finish this book eventually. Hopefully. Maybe. Eh…

The Burning Sky (The Elemental Trilogy #1) by Sherry Thomas – I can’t even pretend, this does not sound appealing to me in the slightest. Usually I’m not full into sci-fi, it has to be a really good sci-fi story to catch my interest, and this one just doesn’t sound full burn enough to tickle my fancy.
⊗DELETE⊗
Shadow of the Fox (Shadow of the Fox #1) by Julie Kagawa – When this came out in the last quarter of 2018 it was getting a lot of hype and I’m not known for resisting hype well so onto my TBR it went. I admit, the premise still sounds interesting but will I read it? Probably not. There are a lot of other books on my TBR that pull my attention more than this one.
⊗DELETE⊗
Finale (Caraval #3) by Stephanie Garber – Oh please, I’m obviously keeping this one. The first book of the trilogy, Caraval, may have been garbage but Legendary was fantastic. I can’t wait to see what I’m going to get with this third book. Not to mention that cover is amazing.
♦KEEP♦
The Passion of Dolssa by Julie Berry – This books sounds kind of interesting. I enjoy a good historical fantasy and the rating on Goodreads are running at around the 4 which is always a good sign. But…would I ever actually pick it up or just think about maybe reading it? Probably not.
⊗DELETE⊗
A Reaper at the Gates (An Ember in the Ashes #3) by Sabaa Tahir – No brainer. I fell in love with this series early in 2018 and there is no way I am going to just jump ship. Team Helene!

I love doing these Down the TBR Hole posts. It feels good weeding out some of the books I may no longer have interest in. Also gives a window to past me who added these books to the shelf and I sometimes wonder what that bitch was thinking. Happy reading, everyone!
You’re killin me girl with Passion of Dolssa lol. I hope you try it one day 🙂 and you’re not missing much on shadow of the fox…

I remember Shadow getting a lot of hype pre release but it fizzled out pretty quickly so glad I made a good call on that one.
And I’ll bet you three doggy snuggles that I will stumble across Passion of Dolssa again at some point and go, “Oh! That sounds good!” and add it with no recollection that this ever happened. 😀

Hah! I’m glad someone else gets that feeling sometimes. Occasionally I’ll look at a book I added and think, “Man, who hurt me that day. Damn!”
