Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week they provide a topic and you are free to use that topic and/or variations of that topic to make your top ten list. You don’t have to do all ten. Instead you can do three, five, fifteen, whatever you want. A full list of the weekly themes can be found here.
This week’s theme is Characters I’d Like to Switch Places With. I’d like to think it would only be switching places for a period of time instead of permanently so that is how I’m going to think of it. I must admit, doing this week’s theme turned out to be a lot more fun than I thought it would be!
A Dangerous Collaboration (Veronica Speedwell #4) by Deanna Raybourn – I would love to spend a day, week, month as Veronica Speedwell. She is fiercely intelligent, has the best banter, and is just a general badass. I’m not so into the butterfly thing but that is alright, to be such an amazing woman for a few days I would put up with the butterfly collection.
A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Mist and Fury #3) by Sarah J Maas – *possible spoiler* I would want to be Mor. Why? To fix her fucking story. Her character was done an injustice in this book. If she is bi Mor would have fucking owned that shit, not hidden it, and it would 100% have made sense in her character arc if it had been done well. But it wasn’t. This will never not piss me off and I want to correct it.
Daughter of the Pirate King (Daughter of the Pirate King #1) by Tricia Levenseller – *ring ring* Hello? Oh yes, I would LOVE to be a kick ass pirate with a bitchin crew for a few days, thank you very much! Alosa, you have my heart and I would love to be your awesome self. I think I would make a fabulous captain, now where’s my sword?!
Invictus by Ryan Graudin – I would trade places with ANYONE from the Invictus crew. I don’t care, pick a crew member, I am there. I want to plunder history. I want to wiz through space and time in a time machine. I want to go to the Library of Alexandria, Ancient Greece, walk the deck of the Titanic. Give me. Give me it all. I don’t think I’d ever leave.
The Bone Season (The Bone Season #1) by Samantha Shannon – I would jump into Paige Mahoney’s shoes, if only for a short period of time, in a hot second. I love this series. I want to experience the world it takes place in, even if it is a cruel world. But to live in her shoes for a day in my favorite book? Even if it hurt, as it inevitably would considering the story, I still would. Wouldn’t even think twice.
The Invisible Library (The Invisible Library #1) by Genevieve Cogman – Irene, oh Irene. You get to have such magnificent adventures. Crossing into different universes, using your wits to retrieve rare books, cavorting with dragons? Oh, yes please. You might never be able to make me leave.

Look, I’m more of a Top Six Tuesday kind of person. I don’t remember the last time I actually did a full ten. Is it my attention span? Is it my lack of time? Is it because I’m super picky and don’t truly enjoy enough books to do this kind of thing? The world may never know…
Oh The Invisible Library!! Yes!!

Great list! I love the idea of switching places with a character to fix their story, and thanks for reminding me that I need to pick up Invictus. I keep hearing good things about it!

Invictus is one of my all time favorite books. Reading it is like a comforting hug anytime I am feeling low. Hope you enjoy it, too!

Wouldn’t that be a blast? Sure, I’m sure there would be danger etc but isn’t that half the fun

I’ve not read any of the books your characters come from but the characters sound really interesting!
