Top Ten Tuesday | Spring 2019 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week they provide a topic and you are free to use that topic and/or variations of that topic to make your top ten list. You don’t have to do all ten. Instead you can do three, five, fifteen, whatever you want. A full list of the weekly themes can be found here.

This week’s theme is Books On My Spring 2019 TBR. I am genuinely excited by this theme as there are so many books that have come out recently or are set to release soon that I badly want to read! Normally I’m not much of one to follow a strict TBR but I feel like I will definitely read at least most of these books in the coming months.

The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon – Look, I want so badly to read this book. I love Samantha Shannon’s The Bone Season. I love the concept of this book. But…its so big. I’m really going to have to talk myself up to read it. I’m not a “big book” person. My 5 year old has a longer attention span than I do. I know I know I will read it, I won’t be able to hold out much longer.

Lady Smoke (Ash Princess Trilogy #2) by Laura Sebastian – When I read Ash Princess last year I was really impressed. It wasn’t a five star read but I was still more than entertained. So, of course, when Lady Smoke was released I immediately picked it up. Of course, since then it has sat on what I call The Shelf of Honor in my living room. Hasn’t moved but I’ll get there soon.

The Gilded Wolves (The Gilded Wolves #1) by Roshani Chokshi – I was lucky enough to get this book in an Owl Crate box (love love love the special edition cover) and have kept picking it and just looking at it. I nearly read it as my current read but then decided on Enchantee instead. I feel like this one will definitely be up soon.

Crown of Feathers (Crown of Feathers #1) by Nicki Pau Preto – Here we are with another Owl Crate special edition! Honestly, until this book came in the mail I hadn’t even heard of it. Since then, every time I see it I feel more and more drawn to it. I love the idea of a Phoenix rider and even though it feels a little more sci fi than fantasy to me I’m still looking forward to this baby. This was also my first sprayed edge book and it is so beautiful. I need more in my life.

Four Dead Queens by Ashrid Scholte – So, I think we’ve all seen this one around since last year. There was so much hype around its release and I know I sure got sucked in. This book just found it’s way to my owned shelf this past Saturday and I’m telling you, my fingers are itching to grab it. There are a couple books I am going to read before it but I think this sucker is being bumped up my TBR.

Song of the Dead (Reign of the Fallen #2) by Sarah Glenn Marsh – I have to admit, I actually already started this book, got a third of the way in, and gave it a DNF for now but I will be picking it up again. I just wasn’t in the mood for that kind of fantasy at the time although I have to admit I was LOVING the f/f romance. One day soon I will pick back up right where I left off.

Once and Future (Once and Future #1 by Amy Rose Capetta and Cori McCarthy – A future fem take on the Arthurian legend? Oh, yes please, sign me right on up. Now, the early reviews of this I’ve seen have been mixed but I am not going to let that deter me. This book sounds like a joy ride and I am HERE for it. March 26

Wicked Saints (Something Dark and Holy #1) by Emily A. Duncan – I begged for an ARC of this, alas, it was not to be. Now I have to wait for the release date at which time I will be snatching this off the shelf faster than the speed of light. Everything about this sounds fantastic and I’ve come to enjoy the author’s presence on social media which is always a plus. April 2

The Raven’s Tale by Cat Winters – I. Am. Hyped. For this book. My obsession for all things Poe knows no bounds and I have never before seen a fantasy novel based around him. I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on this. Not to mention that cover is absolutely amazing. Sitting here writing this I literally just gushed at my husband about this book. I NEEDS IT! April 16

That is it for this Top Ten Tuesday! Are any of these books on your spring TBR as well?

  2. I recently gifted my friend with Gilded Wolves, based on the description alone. I might need to read it myself, now! Really cool list – fantasy is awesome!
