WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and was formerly hosted by A Daily Rhythm. It is open for anyone to participate, even without a blog you can comment on Sam’s post with your own answers. It is a great way to share what you’ve been reading! All you have to do is answer three questions and share a link to your blog in the comments section of Sam’s blog.
The three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
Serpent & Dove (Serpent & Dove #1) by Shelby Mahurin – People have been raving about this book nonstop since it came out. Witches, witch. hunters, dark and grim cover…how could I resist? Currently I am just over 100 pages in and the story certainly isn’t what I expected. I don’t really like any of the characters and all of the male characters have done little more than infuriate me.
Uprooted by Naomi Novik – I read Spinning Silver by Novik earlier this year and absolutely loved it! So, of course, I picked up Uprooted because most reviews gushed that Uprooted was even better than Spinning Silver. So far, I do not agree. I love Novik’s writing style, it really gets its teeth in me, but the actual story isn’t doing anything for me.
What did you recently finish reading?
House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig – Look, I know a lot of people love this book but it was just a massive disappointment for me. So many useless scenes, useless characters, pointless themes, and a very poorly done story flow.
Capturing the Devil (Stalking Jack the Ripper #4) by Kerri Maniscalco – And here is another book that was huge let down. I only sort of enjoyed the first three books in this series but I had such hope for one supposed to be based around H. H. Holmes because he is fascinating in a morbid, violent kind of way. Of course, the story was actually only about Audrey and Thomas’s romance and I wish that I had just skipped this entire series.
What do you think you’ll read next?

The Beautiful (The Beautiful #1) by Renee Ahdieh – This book was delivered to me yesterday and it is sitting on my shelf calling to me. Some of my earliest reads in the adult genre were Anne Rice’s Lestat novels and I long for more vampires in New Orleans. I absolutely cannot wait to dive into this story!

I have had a lot of trouble lately with WordPress freezing, crashing, and not saving my posts. I’m not sure what the problem is because I haven’t heard anyone else talking about this issues so hopefully I can get it worked out soon to share more bookish content with you all.
I hope everyone has a lovely day and happy reading.
So many let down’s for you, hopefully there will be some good reads soon!
Enjoy your reading!

I hate it when books disappoint, especially when you have enjoyed other books by that author!

It is a sad feeling. I’m always left feeling like I missed a point that everyone else understood which is uncomfortably isolating.

I have been seriously tempted to pick up an Anne Rice novel, I used to love them, but I should probably be reading the Beautiful too.
Hopefully youll fare better with it than some of your recent reads.

Lestat was my first literary love. The series hasn’t aged all that well, though, which is disappointing. Can’t lie, though. I will compare every vampire book, including The Beautiful, to that Anne Rice series.

Oof, the Stalking Jack the Ripper series has kind of been a ‘meh’ experience for me, I’m only on book three, but I was hoping it’d get better >.<

Honest opinion? The fourth book is not worth it. The third book was the high point in the series. Some people have loved it and more power to them but you better be in it for the romance aspect if you move on to Capturing the Devil.
