WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and was formerly hosted by A Daily Rhythm. It is open for anyone to participate, even without a blog you can comment on Sam’s post with your own answers. It is a great way to share what you’ve been reading! All you have to do is answer three questions and share a link to your blog in the comments section of Sam’s blog.
The three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
Shadow and Bone (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy #1) by Leigh Bardugo – I’ve tried Bardugo’s work before in the form of Six of Crows and, well, I was not impressed. It just wasn’t for me and that is okay. However, now that the casting has been announced for the Grisha trilogy I found myself sucked in. Lets be honest, casting Ben Barnes was a power move to get claws in people like me. So here I am, reading the original Grisha trilogy and…I’m really liking it so far. Color me surprised!
Uprooted by Naomi Novik – This one I’ve been reading as audio and up until about the 45% mark I have been utterly bored. Glad to say that the story is picking up because I was ready to toss another book in my ever growing DNF pile.
What did you recently finish reading?

Serpent & Dove (Serpent & Dove #1) by Shelby Mahurin – I was over half way through with this book when I decided to set it aside. Not a single character caught my interest. The men were horrible as I believe they were meant to be but the women were no better. They were just horrible in different ways. I like morally grey characters but stupidity and selfishness are huge turn offs for me. Maybe I’ll go back at some point and try to finish this one but for right now it is little more than a pretty cover on my shelf.
What do you think you’ll read next?

Crier’s War (Crier’s War #1) by Nina Varela – I only read next what I put in this section maybe a quarter of the time. Yet every WWW Wednesday post I try to put something that currently has my interest. Right now, that book is Crier’s War. First of all that cover is an absolute work of art. Lately there has been a problem with pretty books having crummy stories but I really hope that isn’t the case with this one.

Are any of these books on your TBR? Let me know what you are reading!
Glad to see you’re loving Shadow and bone more than you did six of crows!
I’m about to pick up There will come a darkness, and I’m listening to American royals!

If my hold for Shadow and Bone hadn’t come in at the library I was going to pick up There Will Come a Darkness next. It keeps shouting for my attention from my shelves, it is really quite rude. Hope you love it!

I feel a little happy to see that I’m not the only one who decided to put Serpent & Dove down for now, I really wasn’t enjoying it, it’s a shame but maybe I’ll give it a second chance at another time and try again 😊

So many people love Serpent & Dove that I really had started to feel like I was missing something with it. But, at the end of the day, I think it just isn’t for me which is sad because I was really hyped for it.
