WWW Wednesday | March 25

WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and was formerly hosted by A Daily Rhythm. It is open for anyone to participate, even without a blog you can comment on Sam’s post with your own answers. It is a great way to share what you’ve been reading! All you have to do is answer three questions and share a link to your blog in the comments section of Sam’s blog.

The three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

We Hunt the Flame (Sands of Arawaiya #1) by Hafsah Faizal – I received this book in an OwlCrate box in 2019 and was very excited to own it! At the time I wasn’t in the frame of mind to read a more adult leaning (even though it is labeled under YA), dense fantasy story. But, I picked this back up this week and I am so glad that I did! I’m very much looking forward to seeing how this story pans out. The writing is rich, easy to follow, and the characters have certainly piqued my interest.

What did you recently finish reading?

House of Earth and Blood (Crescent City #1) by Sarah J Maas – I’m changing this one to BOOK I MOST RECENTLY DNFED as I can’t remember the last book I actually finished reading. Ya’ll I’ve been in one heck of a reading slump. But, I’ve now tried to read this newest Maas book twice, once in hard copy and once as audio, and I just can’t. One of my most anticipated books of 2020 and I just don’t dig it. Honestly, I think it is the setting. I usually have a very difficult holding interest in books with a modern feeling setting. Will I come back to this book at some point? Maybe. But I doubt it.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Ember Queen (Ash Princess Trilogy #3) by Laura Sebastian – This is the third book in Sebastian’s Ash Princess Trilogy and so far I’ve mostly enjoyed the first book and vehemently hated the second so I have no idea how this third one is going to turn out. I have hope though. Her writing has shown promise, I just think the plot missed the mark in Lady Smoke. Fingers crossed!

Thats all for this week! Have you read any of these titles? What did you think? I hope you all have the loveliest of days. Stay safe!

  1. Enjoy your reading! I can’t wait to pick up House of earth of blood! I also hope to read We hunt the flames at some point!
I just finished my current reads, so it is time to choose something new. Probably The flatshare, since I feel like I need something light 🙂
