Top Ten Tuesday ~ Non Bookish Hobbies

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week they provide a topic and you are free to use that topic and/or variations of that topic to make your top ten list. You don’t have to do all ten. Instead you can do three, five, fifteen, whatever you want. A full list of the weekly themes can be found here

This week’s theme is Non Bookish Hobbies. Honestly, this theme depresses me a little because it got me thinking about what I do during the day which is typically work and a vast variety of chores. Carving out time for reading and writing is my hobby. But, maybe I can dig down in the well and figure something out.

Something I often do during the week is drag my kiddo outside with me to go for a walk, especially during this COVID disaster. Since so much of our time is spent home, it is nice getting out and just taking a stroll. We often pretend to catch Pokemon or, the old time favorite across generations, that the ground is lava. It is an enjoyable experience and a nice way to spend time with kiddo away from the temptations of screens and tech.

Am I digging a little deep down the barrel? Honey, yes I sure am. Sigh. Anyway, one of my simple pleasures in life is sampling the vast array of coffee creamers that are always on display in the local grocery store. During this process I have discovered that I, under no circumstances, should drink the Natural Bliss by Coffee Mate creamer. Boy, that stuff messed with my tummy. I also love making my way through the holiday creamer selections every year. I miss the gingerbread flavorings, though.

Something that will come as no surprise to anyone is a more recent “hobby” that could only become a thing in 2020. Mask making. I don’t make them to sell but I do enjoy making them for my daughter and I. I work outside of the home so having masks readily available is vital and they may as well be made with fabric and patterns that I like, right? Soon I’ll start on a batch of wintery themed masks and I’m very much looking forward to it.

Look, I came up with three things. What more could you want from me? My only real hobby is reading related so I really had a stretch for these.

I hope you all are having a wonderful day and happy reading! 🖤

  1. I find it really hard to list hobbies when people ask me. I have learnt how to knit this year so that’s another to the list!
