Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week they provide a topic and you are free to use that topic and/or variations of that topic to make your top ten list. You don’t have to do all ten. Instead you can do three, five, fifteen, whatever you want. A full list of the weekly themes can be found here.
This week’s theme is Books I Want to Read Again. Now, rereading books is my jam. There are some on my shelves that I have reread a dozen times and will happily reread in the coming years at least a dozen more. Rereading a book is like visiting with an old friend. There is a sense of comfort to it and the older I get the more I long for that feeling. Here are some of the books I want to reread and/or have already revisited.
A Curse so Dark and Lonely (Cursebreakers #1) by Brigid Kemmerer and A Heart so Fierce and Broken (Cursebreakers #2) by Brigid Kemmerer – These are the first two books in Kemmerer’s Cursebreakers trilogy with the third one set for release in January 2021. I absolutely loved these books the first time I read them and have been meaning to revisit them all year. Before the third book comes out I think I’ll reread this so the story is nice and fresh in my mind.
Into the Drowning Deep (Rolling in the Deep #1) by Mira Grant – When I first picked up this book I really did not know what to expect. Someone had described it to me as “horror mermaids” and, well, that sounded pretty interesting. This book was fantastic and more violent than I expected and I felt genuine suspense at a few points. One of my biggest fears is drowning and this book gave that fear a good hard poke. I want to revisit this one in the coming year because who doesn’t need more horror mermaids in their life?
The Bone Season Septology by Samantha Shannon – I. Love. These. Books. Love them. I’ve mentioned it before but The Bone Season was one of the books that got me out of a years long reading slump back in 2013. I hadn’t really read much in years up until that book but something about it pulled at me so I picked it up and I’m so glad that I did. Now it is one of my favorite series and I want to reread it again (I already have reread it before) prior to the fourth book coming out in February 2021.
From Blood and Ash and A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire (Blood and Ash Trilogy) by Jennifer L. Armentrout – I have already read both of these books twice and they both have been out less than a year. They are obsessive and I adore them. The final book in the trilogy is set for release in April 2021 and before then I am most definitely going to read the first two again. I want the story fresh in my mind before diving into the conclusion.
Rereading books I love is one of my favorite things. Right now one of my current reads is A Court of Mist and Fury which I have read multiple times over the last few years simply because I love it. Hanging out with characters I know, spending some time with them, just makes me happy. What books have you reread? Do you get the same comfort feeling that I do?
Happy Reading! 🖤
