Book Spotlight | A Touch of Malice (Hades & Persephone #3) by Scarlett St. Clair

Title: A Touch of Malice (Hades & Persephone #3) by Scarlett St. Clair

Genre(s): adult, fantasy, romance, retelling, mythology

Publication: May 25, 2021

Description:

Persephone and Hades are engaged. In retaliation, Demeter summons a snowstorm that cripples New Greece, and refuses to lift the blizzard unless her daughter calls off her engagement.

When the Olympians intervene, Persephone finds her future in the hands of ancient gods, and they are divided. Do they allow Persephone to marry Hades and go to war with Demeter or prohibit their union and take up arms against the God of the Dead?

Nothing is certain but the promise of war. (Goodreads)

The Hades & Persephone series by Scarlett St Clair is one that I stumbled across back in January of this year (2021). I have a soft spot in my shriveled little heart for Hades mythology retellings so how could I resist picking this up once I knew it existed?

I very much enjoyed the first two books of this series and have been waiting impatiently for this third one, A Touch of Malice, to be released. The evolving relationship between the two characters has been a roller coaster and while Persephone started off as a very mentally juvenile character I feel like she may finally be maturing and coming into her own. Either way, I’m going to be jumping into this book to find out what happens to my beloved Hades in this modern fantasy retelling.

Have you given this series a try? What did you think?

    1. It is good! I also highly recommend the companion series, Hades Saga. Hades & Persephone is told from Persephone’s perspective and the Hades Saga is the same story told from his and, let me tell you, his side is much spicier. 🔥
