My thoughts:

Folks, when I first read the description of this book I really wasn’t sure what to think. My fictional relationship with vampires is very hit or miss…mostly miss. As a teen I discovered The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice and my love affair with Lestat ensued. Then as a young adult those sparkly vampires took over and I just absolutely could not. They were not my cup of tea in any way shape or form and since then I haven’t been able to get into a vampire story. As much as I loved Lestat, no other stories could ever stack up to his antics.

I now have high hopes.

St. Clair is the author of the Hades and Persephone series which I fell in love with. Her writing style works for me and I very much like the romance she weaves into her stories. I was also lucky enough to read the first chapter of this book in a teaser and I felt myself very quickly being swept up. Her writing is just so compulsively readable, I can’t look away.

I have this title preordered and the moment I get my hands on it I know I will just have to start reading.

Have you read anything from Scarlett St. Clair? Does this book tug at you the same way it does at me?
