The fourth quarter of 2021 is has already snuck up on us. Wasn’t I just writing my second quarter post last week? What happened? Granted, I always end up feeling like this at the end of summer. Summer is just…this empty span of time I have to suffer through. Some folks may love summertime but I am not among them. I grew up in the mohave desert and I never, ever want to be that warm again. The heat makes me think of misery and torture. But, that’s just me. Here we are once again, time for another quarterly look at my most anticipated reads. I feel like I just finished writing the 2nd quarter post and 3rd quarter snuck up on me and smacked me right in the face. For a year, March 2020 – March 2021, it felt like the world was at an absolute stand still and time wasn’t passing in any way. It was a weird purgatory. Now, since COVID vaccines have rolled out, it seems as if the world has started moving again and it had an entire year to catch up on. Everything is moving so fast. Ya’ll, I’m tired.

You frequently hear authors talking about how preorders help them when their book is released. Their accumulated preorders leading up to the book’s release date all count toward sales during that first week which can help make or break that book’s performance or whether or not the author gets to continue writing that series or if they get a new contract with that publisher.
